IOA Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week with Governor Reynolds
Staff from Iowa Workforce Development and the Iowa Office of Apprenticeship joined Governor Reynolds this spring celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, recognizing the state's efforts that have made Registered Apprenticeship (RA) a cornerstone of our workforce future. Over the past few years, Iowa has expanded RA programs in high-demands like healthcare and education, opened career pathways to more Iowans, and established a statewide office to help guide apprenticeship programs well into the future.

New Sponsor Orientation
The IOA New Sponsor Orientation is designed to help sponsors build a strong foundation for administering a successful Registered Apprenticeship Program and to ensure a clear understanding of program requirements and available support.
- The orientation provides an overview of program administration and sponsor responsibilities, including:
- Introduction to the Iowa Office of Apprenticeship (IOA)
- Roles and responsibilities of apprenticeship sponsors
- Overview of RAPIDS and sponsor recordkeeping requirements
- Apprentice registration, cancellations, completions, and suspensions
- Wage progression schedules and related instruction requirements
- Compliance reviews and monitoring expectations
- Available resources, tools, and technical assistance
- Questions and answers with IOA staff
