IWD has opened a new round of grant funding to help employers advance promising summer internship programs for Iowa’s youth. Applications will be accepted through February 16.

  • Post Jobs and Find Candidates

    Employers can find viable candidates and quickly post job openings on Iowa's largest jobs bank, IowaWORKS.gov.

  • Build Your Pipeline Through Apprenticeships

    Registered Apprenticeship are a proven tool to help employers build a pipeline of skilled workers.

  • Hire Veterans and Find Top Talent

    Partner with the state's groundbreaking programs to hire Veterans & spouses seeking to build a new career path in Iowa.

Training Programs

Iowa provides a wide variety of incentives to help employers train and equip new workers, including programs that directly support wages and work-based learning.

  • Accelerated Career Education Program (260G)

    Provides employers with an enhanced, skilled workforce by creating or expanding programs needed most by the business.

  • Federal Bonding Program

    Assists employers in recruiting and retaining a qualified workforce, including individuals with barriers to employment.

  • Iowa Industrial New Jobs Training Program (260E)

    Assists businesses that are creating new positions with new employee training.

  • Iowa Jobs Training Program (260F)

    Works through community colleges to provide valuable job training services to current employees of eligible businesses.

  • Iowa Student Internship Program

    Helps retain educated workers in Iowa by supporting programs that transition internships into full-time employment.

  • STEM Internship Programs

    Provides grants to employers for STEM internship programs that transition students from interns to full-time employees.

Tax Credits

  • New Jobs Tax Credit

    One-time corporate income tax credit that incentivizes employers to provide training that enhances their workforce.

  • Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)

    A federal tax credit available to employers who hire and retain individuals from targeted groups facing barriers.

Connecting with Business Engagement

Employers can get direct, one-on-one support from Business Engagement.

  • Contact Your Local Business Engagement Consultant (BEC)

    Connect with the Division to discuss your workforce needs and find solutions that fit your business.

  • Post a Job Opening

    Employers can post their job openings on IowaWORKS and gain access to a number of tools to help recruit their workforce.
