What Makes an HBI Community?
Home Base Iowa Communities represent the best the state has to offer, offering incentives and friendly employment opportunities that help Veterans and their families find a new place to call home. HBI designates qualified communities based on a set of comprehensive standards. To become designated, communities shall:
Develop its own incentive package for veterans.
Display its HBI Community designation prominently.
Obtain a resolution of support from the appropriate local governing body.

Tama County
HBI recently staff joined the Tama County Board of Supervisors, Tama County residents, and other local representatives to recognize the 85th county in Iowa to be designated as an HBI Community.
