The Central Iowa Job Training Program is a grant administrated by Iowa Workforce Development that supports long-term programs that help unemployed and underemployed individuals in the area develop essential skills to attain higher-paying jobs. 

This opportunity typically happens once per year. For fiscal year 2024-2025, the State of Iowa identified $100,000 in funding to support the Central Iowa Job Training Program Grant. The grant is open to businesses, non-profits and consortiums of employers in good standing with the State of Iowa in the following counties:

  • Eligible Counties: Adair, Boone, Dallas, Greene, Grundy, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hardin, Jasper, Madison, Mahaska, Marion, Marshall, Polk, Poweshiek, Story, Tama, Warren, or Webster.
    • Note: The main offices of the applicant (address listed on the W-9 as the legal address of the organization) must be located and operate within the listed Central Iowa counties above to be considered eligible.
