Iowa Workforce Development is a critical state agency devoted to serving Iowans by connecting job seekers with the employers who need them to grow. We help Iowans find the programs and resources they need to reach their employment goals, and we show employers ways to locate and/or develop the workers they need.
ABOUT IOWA WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) is the state's leading workforce agency, committed to providing employment services for individual job seekers and connecting employers to available workers.
IWD continually strives to serve Iowans with the most effective possible use of state resources. The agency works diligently to improve its processes and align the organization so it can provide effective, demand-driven products and services.
IWD staff in Des Moines consists of administration, labor market information, and unemployment services, as well as Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation Services and Adult Education & Literacy programs. The agency also maintains a statewide delivery system of IowaWORKS Centers and satellite and expansion offices where both employers and job-seeking Iowans can receive workforce assistance through the IowaWORKS partnership.
IowaWORKS Career Planners assist job seekers with the application process, creating a resume, and/or practicing interviewing skills. Visit them at any of IowaWORKS Center or meet with them virtually. Visit IowaWORKS.gov for additional information.
