Employers who are actively sponsoring or developing a work-based learning program and who also are working with an approved high school partner do not need a waiver. However, any permitted hazardous activities for 16- and 17-year-olds, regardless of which program, require parental permission forms to be submitted to the state by the employer prior to the minor beginning training.
Steps
- Review the CTE Student Learner Agreement and Permission Form.
- Work with your High School Partner to obtain required information and complete form.
- Once completed email Kathy Leggett at Kathy.leggett@iwd.iowa.gov
- IWD will confirm the school partner and program are approved and notify you that the agreement, permission form is filed, and the specified hazardous work can begin per the agreement conditions.
