Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) has formally announced a new, modernized unemployment system that will make it easier for Iowans to file for benefits.
IWD thanks you for your efforts in combating unemployment fraud and abuse. Watch out for fraudulent websites, phishing attempts or scams and report them to IWD.
Senate File 2218, signed into law by Governor Reynolds, establishes new requirements intended to strengthen employment verification practices across Iowa.
Ineligible Iowans who receive UI benefits must repay IWD. Overpayments will be communicated through decision letters. Payments can be made online or via mail.
