On May 11, 2021, Governor Kim Reynolds announced new measures to address the State of Iowaβs severe workforce shortage. Effective June 12, 2021, the State of Iowa ended its participation in federal pandemic-related unemployment benefit programs. The last payable week for most pandemic-related programs was the week ending June 12, 2021.
Over the course of the pandemic, Iowa Workforce Development administered a number of federally-sponsored programs that provided benefits to Iowans impacted by the pandemic. The majority of these services ended on June 12, 2021. However, claimants may still apply for these programs if the work occurred before that time, or if they are filing for a wavier or appeal.
See below for information on these programs.
