Founded in 1853, Adams County was named after John Adams, the second President of the United States. Adams County is the birthplace of Johnny Carson, hosts NASCAR races and is home to Lake Icaria. As a Home Base Community since May 2016, Adams County has a strong commitment to veteran job placement, health care and education.
