Iowa Workforce Development (IWD) has announced the remaining availability of Career Planners in Perry and the long-term support options for workers impacted by the Tyson Foods closure.
Throughout the summer, IWD has allocated additional agency staff to work at the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) VanKirk Center to directly support former Tyson workers. IWD has served hundreds of former Tyson workers through its rapid response services and services at DMACC, but soon will be transitioning staff in light of recent low traffic numbers.
Tuesday, August 27th will be the last day that career planners will be available at the DMACC facility in Perry. Career planning and other critical workforce services will continue to be available both virtually and in-person at two Des Moines area IowaWORKS offices.
