Description

Covering 443 square miles in western Iowa, Audubon County is made up of a beautiful rural landscape dotted with six incorporated communities: Audubon (county seat), Brayton, Exira, Gray, Kimbolton, and Hamlin. There are two school districts in Audubon County, including Audubon Community Schools and Exira-EHK Community Schools. Residents can find an array of activities any time of the year, including visiting Albert the Bull Park and Campground, Nathaniel Hamlin Park and Museum, Audubon Golf and Country Club, Littlefield Recreation Area (Lake, Park and Campground), Heritage Rose Garden, Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid and Sculpture Garden, New Century Art Guild, the newly renovated Rose Theatre and the Audubon Rec Center, set to open in 2018. Additionally, the T-Bone Trail is a 20+ mile paved recreational trail that runs from Audubon, south along Highway 71.
