Description

Founded in 1837, Clayton County was named after Senator John M. Clayton. From various churches to museums and even protected areas, visitors won't be disappointed with Clay County. Pikes Peak State Park offers a beautiful view on a 500-foot bluff overlooking the Upper Mississippi River. Bixby State Preserve is one of the few places in the world to contain algific talus slopes turning the cave walls into ice. Strawberry Point is home to the world's largest strawberry (made of fiberglass) and Backbone State Park, Iowa's oldest state park.
