Description

Founded in 1851, Franklin County was named after Benjamin Franklin. The Franklin County Fair in Hampton is one of Iowa's top county fairs, and one of many things to do within the county. Indoor activities include shopping, bowling, swimming, basketball, museums, movies theaters. Outdoor activities range from camping, hiking, golfing, target shooting, hunting, fishing and more. As a Home Base Community, Franklin County has a strong commitment to veteran job placement, health care and education.
