Description

Page County was founded in 1843, shortly before the arrival of its earliest settlers. It was named in honor of John Page, a notable figure in Iowa’s early development. Drawn by the region’s fertile soil and abundant natural resources, settlers quickly established an agricultural community. The county’s growth was further shaped by the westward expansion of the United States and the arrival of railroad lines in the late 19th century, which helped spur economic and population development.
