Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) is currently available to eligible Iowans who have become unemployed as a result of a major disaster. Iowa Workforce Development is accepting applications for DUA from individuals whose employment or self-employment was lost or interrupted due to the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding in the following areas:
Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Emmet, Lyon, OβBrien, Plymouth, & Sioux Counties (Storms and Flooding that Began on June 16, 2024):
- Assistance is currently approved for up to 27 weeks, and applications are due on August 23, 2024.
Adair, Polk, Story, Montgomery, Adams, Cedar, and Jasper Counties (Storms on May 20-21, 2024):
- Assistance is currently approved for up to 26 weeks, and applications are due on July 23, 2024.
Clarke, Harrison, Mills, Polk, Pottawattamie, Ringgold, Shelby, and Union Counties (Storms on April 26, 2024):
- Assistance is currently approved for up to 29 weeks, and applications are due on July 13, 2024.
